He was part of the Blues defence that conceded three goals against Roma in the Champions League in the preceding midweek and boss Antonio Conte decided to go with Andreas Christensen instead of the Brazilian for the clash against the Red Devils.
Speaking about Luiz’s future, the Italian said. “I don’t know. Andreas Christensen is the present and the future for Chelsea.”
He added: “He has to work really hard otherwise he is on the bench or in the stand.”
But that doesn’t mean it’s all over for Luiz, despite Conte reportedly being unimpressed with his attitude.
