Some – wrongly – call Ligue 1 a ‘Farmers’ League’, but since his arrival in France, Edinson Cavani has done what he does best, put the ball in the back of the net.

On Tuesday he scored his 29th Champions League goal for the Champions, helping them beat Red Star 4-1 and seal top spot in a very difficult group.

Kylian Mbappé continues to establish himself as the true star of the Parisian club, and with Neymar being Neymar, the Uruguayan has been linked with moves away from the Parc des Princes.

Atlético Madrid see him as a replacement for the ineffective Diego Costa, with Chelsea also showing an interest as Maurizio Sarri looks to solve his centre-forward problems.

Despite being 31 years old, here’s why the former Napoli striker should still be classed an elite striker.
