The Manchester United No.7 shirt has been worn by several of the club’s greatest players. Yet it’s telling that over nine years since his departure, nobody has been able to fill it quite like Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese arrived at Old Trafford in 2003 as an 18-year-old prospect. One more prone to unnecessary flamboyance than match-winning contributions.

However, under Sir Alex Ferguson Ronaldo evolved into one of the most complete forwards to play the game. Pace, power, technique, self-belief: Ronaldo had everything. And that remains the case to this day.

And the man now known across the world as CR7 returns to Old Trafford tonight to take on United with his new side Juventus.

Now 33 years old, Ronaldo’s powers haven’t waned. He’s adapted his game, of that there is no doubt, but the Portugal superstar still often makes his biggest contributions on the biggest stage.

So ahead of the contest we have taken a look back at his top five Manchester United moments. There are decisive goals, wonder strikes and more.
