The 2014 World Cup seems a long time ago…

The last time England played in a match at the World Cup finals, it was a disappointing 0-0 draw with Costa Rica in Brazil. The result didn’t mean anything as Roy Hodgson’s side were already out after two defeats in their opening two games.

Ben Foster started in goal, while Frank Lampard was England’s No.8. Wayne Rooney came off the bench to replace James Milner in midfield while Rickie Lambert was an unused substitute.

After that disappointment a number of changes have taken place for the Three Lions.

Hodgson left after Euro 2016 while Sam Allardyce’s brief spell saw him take charge of just one game. Gareth Southgate followed and took the helm for the majority of the qualification campaign ahead of Russia 2018.

But since that World Cup in Brazil there have been 27 England debutants, 14 of them under Southgate and 13 under Hodgson. Can you name them all, though?

Take a test of your knowledge with our quiz below. You’ve got eight minutes to get all of them.

We’ve given you the year they made their debut and the team they were playing for to give you a bit of help.
