Burnley will host Watford on Saturday and be looking to pick up their form again having suffered a couple of losses in their last three matches. In particular, with Watford sitting in eighth, just three points behind seventh placed Burnley, a win could be vital in securing a Europa League spot at the end of the season.
The encounter pits two of the Premier League surprise packages against one another, with their respective managers, Sean Dyche and Marco Silva, among the most highly rated young bosses in the English top flight.
The Clarets have suffered an unfortunate turn in luck. Despite several key players returning from injury a couple of weeks ago, the list has once again grown, with Robbie Brady, Steven Defour and Matthew Lowton all picking up injuries and unlikely to be fit by the weekend.
However, Watford are in a similar position with eight senior players out with injuries and unlikely to be fit enough to play.
Burnley’s Recent Form:
- Leicester 1 – 0 Burnley
- Bournemouth 1 – 2 Burnley
- Burnley 1 – 0 Arsenal
- Burnley 2 – 0 Swansea
- Burnley have only conceded three goals at home this season and Watford haven’t won in nine league visits to Turf Moor.
- Sean Dyche was playing for the Hornets the last time they managed to beat the Clarets at Turf Moor in 2004.
