Arsenal kick off their Carabao Cup campaign this evening with a home tie against League One side Doncaster Rovers but should Arsène Wenger rotate his side?

The fixture will present the Gunners boss with the opportunity to potentially, give a few of the club’s exciting young players some first-team exposure.

Training on Tuesday gave some hints as to team selection with Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Marcus McGuane and Josh Dasilva all involved.

Of that sextet, only Maitland-Niles has been in the first team this season, playing 90 minutes in Arsenal’s Europa League victory over FC Köln at the Emirates last week.

A number of players who haven’t been regulars in the Premier League this season will be given a run-out too.

Manchester City transfer target Alexis Sánchez, Oliver Giroud, Nacho Monreal, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker, Shkodran Mustafi, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere were also involved in training on Tuesday.

The only players unavailable to Wenger are Danny Welbeck (groin), Mesut Özil (knee), Francis Coquelin (hamstring) and Santi Cazorla (plantar injury).

Football Whispers’ unique algorithm has predicted the XI it believes is most likely to start, but you can also give it a go yourself. Just click ‘create your own’ and pick the players you would choose, and you can also see their stats per 90 minutes once you’ve picked them.

When you’re happy with your team, press confirm and you’ll be able to share it with your friends via social media.
