Tottenham Hotspur are in the enviable position of having already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages ahead of their trip to Borussia Dortmund tonight but will still be looking to finish top of Group H to give themselves the best chance of a favourable last-16 tie.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are three points clear of holders Real Madrid after an unforgettable victory over Zinedine Zidane‘s charges in their last fixture and if they better Real’s result against APOEL Nicosia tomorrow night they will advance as group winners.

Defender Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) and Victor Wanyama (knee) are both missing but everyone who has travelled to Germany for the tie against Peter Bosz‘s side is fit and available.

There is even good news on long-term absentee Erik Lamela who has not featured for more than a year with a mystery hip injury. The Argentine played an hour as Spurs Under-23s lost 3-2 to Chelsea at the weekend.

Lamela won’t be in consideration for Dortmund but, speaking ahead of tonight’s tie, Pochettino said: “We are happy with him and now it’s important to see what happens in the next few weeks.

“We hope he starts to feel better and better and then be available for selection for the first team.”
