Former Nigeria international Jay-Jay Okocha thinks Kelechi Iheanacho is making the right decision by leaving Manchester City this summer.

Although he is close to completing a £25million move to Leicester City, Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare admits he’s frustrated at how drawn out the deal has become.

When asked if a deal was close, he told Sky Sports: “I’m hoping so, but I am like every other manager at the moment. I think we all find it frustrating but it is the current market.”

The 20-year-old has been pushed down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium since the arrival of Gabriel Jesus and wants a move away to secure first-team football.

The Nigerian forward has scored 12 league goals in only 12 starts for City and Okocha believes he has what it takes to be a star striker in England.

The former Bolton Wanderers star, talking at the Star Sixes event at the O2 in London, also spoke about his his nephew and Arsenal winer Alex Iwobi, as well as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who’s been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund.
