Good night, all!

And so another transfer deadline day winds down.

We didn't have the big moves perhaps some were expecting today but there was a flurry of activity later in the day, curiously once the window had officially shut.

Everton completed three deals. Fulham went one better and sealed four. Both could still announce signings later in the evening with Kurt Zouma still potentially arriving at Goodison and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's move to West London from Marseille not yet confirmed.

If you been with us throughout the day then thank you, you're a trooper. If you've dipped in and out...we'll thank you too!

Enjoy your evenings, which may like us be spent trying to figure out who is going to be in your fantasy side.

Signed and sealed

Everton fans are understandably happy with their side's business on transfer deadline day but there is a certain about if risk with the signings of Yerry Mina and André Gomes.

Yes, the former impressed at the World Cup for Colombia but he struggled to impose himself at Barcelona following a move from Brazilian club Palmeiras in January.

Gomes, meanwhile, was one of the most-sought after midfielders in Europe during his days at Valencia and Barcelona usurped Real Madrid in the race to sign him back in the summer of 2016.

However, his two seasons at the Camp Nou have been hugely disappointing and Gomes now looks a shell of the player he once was. However, he is still only 25 years old and if Marco Silva can rebuild his confidence then the Toffees will have an outstanding midfielder on their hands.

And another one in at Fulham

They just keep on coming at Fulham!

Does anyone think the Cottagers are going to struggle this season. We personally think a top half finish is more likely!

Fulham with all the signings

Fulham's impressive summer transfer business continues with the loan signing of Luciano Vietto from Atlético Madrid.

Add that to fellow Deadline Day signings Joe Bryan and Sergio Rico and you have to be impressed with the work done by Cottagers' owner Shahid Khan.

Oh and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's potential move to Craven Cottage may still be completed too!

Tottenham make transfer window history

Congratulations/commiserations Tottenham fans on your club achieving this record.

For the first time since the transfer window was introduced in 2003, a Premier League side has gone the entire summer without signing a single player. There was interest in Jack Grealish but no move materialised.

But is Mauricio Pochettino worried? Publicly no.

"People in football find it difficult to understand that Tottenham didn’t sign or sell players, but sometimes in football you need to behave differently. If we are happy with our squad and cannot improve our squad, sometimes it’s better to keep our squad together."

A Dom deal at Watford

The window may have officially closed at 5pm but several deals are still being announced.

Watford have had a fairly quiet deadline day by their standards but they have completed a deal as attacking midfielder Domingos Quina arrives from West Ham for around £1million.

The 18-year-old started his career with Benfica but left in 2013 to join Chelsea. He was highly-rated by the Blues but left after three years with the club as he felt he would have an easier path to the first-team with the Irons.

While Quina has played senior football for West Ham, he's yet to make his Premier League debut. Hornets fans will hope that changes very soon.

Best deal of Deadline Day?

Fantastic news for Leicester City! They've completed a lot of deals this summer but getting Jamie Vardy to sign a new contract with the club may be their best piece of business.

The England international scored 23 goals for the Foxes last season and was obviously a huge part of their miraculous title win in 2016.

"It's a great feeling to know that I can look forward to another four years as a Leicester City player," Vardy said.

Late deal done at Brighton as Martin Montoya arrives at the Amex Stadium from La Liga Valencia.

He started his career at Barcelona and featured in sides which won La Liga three times and the Champions League.

Arter: Better? Faster? Stronger?

As we told you earlier: "Last season, Arter managed 47.95 accurate passes per 90 minutes, ranking him 21st in the Premier League within midfielders. He won 1.77 tackles per 90 and completed 87.3% of his passes.

Although he doesn't offer a goal threat, with an xG + xA per 90 of 0.07, he is an excellent distributor with 5.71 long balls per 90."

Ings to become a Saint?

Although the window has officially closed, it doesn't mean deals can't go through and it seems Southampton did enough to provide the FA with a deal sheet and should sign for the Saints.

Ings was unlikely he was going to gain any significant minutes under Klopp at Anfield, so a deal which offers him first-team football was the best for all parties.

The switch should give the striker an opportunity to kickstart his career. He's endured a tough time with Liverpool due to injuries and has only featured 25 times for the club in three seasons.

What Söyüncü will add to Leicester's backline

As James Nalton explains in today's article, signing Çağlar Söyüncü from Bundesliga side Freiburg and Leicester City will have a player good enough to replace Harry Maguire and would see the club make a nice profit in the process.

Is this Everton's best ever transfer window

Imagine if you had told Everton fans at the end of last season, they would sign three players from Barcelona before the start of new campaign.

It may not be Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Samuel Umtiti, but all three were once deemed good enough to play at the Nou Camp and now they will be lining up at Goodison Park.

Digne provides an upgrade at left-back and he has played with the best in the world. Yerry Mina is an exciting and strong young defender, plus Andre Gomes needs a new lease of life after a poor spell at the Catalan club.

Exciting times for Marco Silva and the Toffees.

Arsenal all done on deadline day

Ousmane Dembele has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool, even Manchester United, but the Gunners are all done this summer.

The French winger joined from Dortmund last summer and Barca paid €105million. Affected by injury, he made just 17 appearances last season, scoring three times and adding seven assists. At only 21 years old, it seems odd that Barcelona would look to sell him on.

Now, he has competition from Malcom, and with Philippe Coutinho wearing the No.7 shirt, the shine has somewhat come off the former Rennes winger.

With only hours left in the English window, it looks like Dembele is set for another season at the Nou Camp.

How Bernard improves Everton

Everton can become entertainers under Bernard's watch

We have James Nalton bringing Everton fans up to speed on Brazilian forward Bernard.

"Put him alongside a goalscorer and in front of another player who can play quick, incisive passes in to his feet and he’ll thrive.

The link-up with Richarlison could make or break Everton’s season, and if the pair hit it off from the start, Goodison Park could be in for one of its most entertaining campaigns in several years."

Victor Camarasa made 24 appearances for Real Betis in La Liga last season. Able to play anywhere in the centre of the midfield, he scored just once in the league but made 1.07 interceptions per 90 minutes and won 1.43 tackles.

He made on average 45.25 passes per 90, but was able to get forward too, with 2.01 scoring attempts per 90. He looks like a solid addition to the Bluebirds midfield as you can see from our persona model below.

Introducing European Football’s Berge-oning Midfield Colossus

We picked him out as an emerging talent back in December and as Sam McGuire wrote, there was a lot to be excited about.

"When a 6ft 5ins midfield behemoth can pick a pass out like Xavi it’s hard not to take notice. Add in the fact he’s just 19 years old and it’s easy to understand why so many top clubs are keeping a close eye on Genk midfielder Sander Berge."

Now, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to be fighting it out for his signature on deadline day. Even if a deal isn't done today, one thing is clear, he's one to watch.

Moves to Burnley and Wolves looked on the cards, but neither came through, now the promising midfielder looks set to stay in the SkyBet Championship and join Stoke City.

It's an interesting move for the player. He showed last term he was good enough to impress in the Premier League and he looked set to make a move up the ladder, so it's a huge deal for the Potters if they can get it over the line.

What does Bernard bring to the Toffees?

Bernard: The Bargain Bin Shakhtar Midfield Star

We profiled the Brazilian back in February, but back then, no one thought he'd be signing for Everton.

He scored three times in the Champions League for Shakhtar Donestsk last season, averaged 0.79 scoring attempts per 90 minutes and finished with an astounding 83.3% shot accuracy.

"Bernard’s numbers don’t leap off the page as he often plays the second last pass that leads to a goal rather than the final pass. But that should not diminish the value of the Brazilian playmaker to Shakhtar Donetsk. In fact, Bernard, alongside Fred, has now become the hottest Shakhtar prospect on the transfer market."

United approach Atleti for Godin

.
.

Although José Mourinho admitted he wasn't confident in a deal, it is being reported that Manchester United have made an approach to Atlético Madrid for Uruguayan captain and centre-back Diego Godin.

He played 30 times in La Liga last season, winning 2.04 of his aerial battles per 90 minutes and 2.07 interceptions. He adds experience and also distribution from the back, with 7.15 long balls per 90.

Still linked with Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld, is Godín the right, short-term option for United, it helps that he would only cost €20million.

Big deals still to be done

There are several big moves that may go through today, many of which involve the top Premier League sides.

  • Manchested United are still searching for a centre-back and are reportedly still looking to bring in one of Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire or Kurt Zouma.
  • Alderweireld may not be the only defensive departure at Spurs as Danny Rose could leave the club and join Bundesliga side Schalke on loan.
  • West Ham United, meanwhile, are considering a last-minute deadline-day move for Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente.
  • Arsenal want to bolster their defensive ranks before the window closes and are considering a move for Croatia and Besiktas centre-back Domagoj Vida.
  • Danny Drinkwater looks set to move for the second summer deadline day in succession. The midfielder has struggled at Chelsea over the past 12 months and could return to Leicester City. West Ham and Crystal Palace are also interested, however.
  • Another departure from Chelsea is likely to be Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian striker is likely to complete a loan move to Valencia.
  • Everton are expected to complete the signing of Yerry Mina from Barcelona today. The Colombian defender was also considered by Manchester United
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers have spent big this summer and may continue to splash the cash on deadline day. They're reportedly hoping to complete deals for Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko. and Paris St-Germain’s 25-year-old France left-back Layvin Kurzawa.

Good Morning!

Happy Deadline Day everyone. Yes, it's back and it's earlier than ever!

But why? Well Premier League clubs, in an act of incredible short-sightedness in a World Cup year, decided it would be best this summer if the transfer window in England closed before the Premier League season got underway.

That happens tomorrow when Manchester United take on Leicester City so today is the last opportunity for English clubs in sign players players permanently. The window, however, remains open across Europe until August 31 so stars could still depart for pastures new with the selling side not having the opportunity to replace them.

Confused? Well don't be. English clubs have until 5pm to complete permanent signings. And the scramble is well underway and there is sure to be plenty of drama in the coming hours.
