Everton beat Merseyside rivals to signing of Brazilian starlet

The Daily Star claim that Everton have won the race for Brazilian starlet Caio Emerson, ahead of their Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in South America, and will only command a £250,000 compensation fee due to his contract with Corinthians expiring this summer.

Barcelona were among a number of other sides interested in securing Emerson's signature.

Southampton are reportedly closing in on OGC Nice goalkeeper Mouez Hassen, who could be having a medical at the club as early as tomorrow, according to the Nice Matin.

The 21-year-old is believed to be surplus to requirements on the south coast having fallen behind Yoan Cardinale in the pecking order.

Crystal Palace refuse to take hit on £13m signing

Crystal Palace aren’t interested in selling Andros Townsend for anything less than the £13m they paid for him in the summer, reports The Daily Mirror.

Townsend joined Palace from Newcastle at the start of the season but has underwhelmed at Selhurst Park and is now wanted back by his former club.

Rafa Benitez is determined to strengthen his squad before Tuesday’s deadline, but Sam Allardyce will not let the England international leave unless their price demands are met.

The Foxes are reported to have seen an initial offer of £7.5million rejected, with the Belgian side demanding £13million for the 27-year-old, who is currently playing at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Claudio Ranieri is keen to add more defensive cover to his squad, especially after letting Luis Hernandez leave to join Malaga.

Juventus eye summer move for unhappy PSG star

Javier Pastore is ready to leave PSG this summer and Juventus are interested in signing him, according to France Football.

The recent acquisitions of Julian Draxler, Giovani Lo Celso and Goncalo Guedes have pushed Pastore further down the pecking order while he recovers from injury, and a fresh start could be just what he needs to get his career back on track.

Max Allegri is thought to be a fan of the 27-year-old, who made a name for himself at Palermo before completing a big money move to the French capital six years ago.

Going somewhere, Dimitri?

With West Ham finally deeming Marseille's £25m bid acceptable, Dimitri Payet is headed home.

The Frenchman will undergo a medical tonight and then sign a five-year-deal with the club.

Should everything go to plan, he will be eligible to face Lyon on Tuesday at the Velodrome.

Here's how we think West Ham can cope without Payet.

Southampton close in on signing of Manolo Gabbiadini

Southampton are close to agreeing a deal to sign Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli for £17m, according to Sky Italia.

The Saints are reportedly offering Gabbiadini a four-year contract worth £40,000 a week, with Napoli set to get a 10 per cent cut of any sell-on fee.

Southampton are reportedly keen to add an extra option up front, having lost Charlie Austin to a long-term injury in December.

We detailed why Gabbiadini is on his way out of Napoli in this article.

Sunderland to offer £11m for Ulloa

The Sun are also reporting that Sunderland manager David Moyes could table an £11 million bid for Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa.

Ulloa scored seven crucial goals for the Foxes in their historic title winning season, however, he has found first team football hard to come by this time around due to new signings Islam Slimani and Ahmed Musa.

The 30-year-old looked set to sign for Spanish side Alaves earlier on this month, but Claudio Ranieri was unhappy with the £1.5m fee they proposed and subsequently called off the deal.

Blackburn eye loan move for Arsenal starlet

Krystian Bielik could leave Arsenal on loan this month with Blackburn looking to secure a deal for the defender, according to the Sun.

The 19-year-old has struggled to break into Arsene Wenger’s first team this season with the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Per Mertesacker, Gabriel and Rob Holding all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Bringing in Bielik could see Coyle’s Rovers steady the ship at the back, which has so far conceded 44 goals in 27 Championship encounters. It will also give the Pole some much needed senior experience.

Klopp looks to Inaki Williams after losing patience with Sturridge

According to the Sunday Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will sell Daniel Sturridge in the summer after losing patience with the striker’s injury record.

The Anfield club will then target Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams, whose pace and power would suit Klopp's frantic style to a tee.

It's believed that Bilbao are reluctant to lose the 22-year-old, but would demand a fee of £45m should he seek pastures new.

Leeds still keen to complete Wahlqvist signing

Leeds could be tempted to make a late move for IFK Norrkoping’s Linus Wahlqvist, according to Swedish outlet Aftonbladet.

The Whites made an approach for the 20-year-old last summer, and claims followed in November that they were keen to sign him in this transfer window.

While there is potential for the deal to happen, with the transfer deadline just days away it’s unlikely that they will convince Norrkoping to let him go unless they overpay.

Burnley continue to monitor Robbie Brady

The Sunday Times claim that Burnley are still interested in signing Robbie Brady this month.

Their failure to bring in Robert Snodgrass from Hull means that the club have turned their attention back to Brady, who could be persuaded to join by his Republic of Ireland team-mates Jeff Hendrick and Stephen Ward.

Crystal Palace had already agreed a £14m for the 25-year-old before opting to sign Patrick van Aanholt from Sunderland instead.

Hull face uphill battle to sign N'koulou

According to L'Equipe, Hull are facing an uphill battle to sign Lyon defender Nicolas N'koulou.

The Premier League strugglers have been trying to convince the 26-year-old defender to move to the KC Stadium, but it's believed that Nkoulou would prefer to stay and fight for his place with the French club.

After seeing two of his more influential players in Jake Livermore and Robert Snodgrass leave the club already this month, new boss Marco Silva is desperate to add some more new faces.

Tottenham to make audacious late bid for Zaha

Tottenham will make an audacious deadline day move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, according to the Sun.

The 24-year-old was a serious target for Mauricio Pochettino earlier on this month, who is now ready to reignite his interest after a string impressive performances at the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, with Palace fighting relegation, it's unlikely that Sam Allardyce will let one of his key players leave unless ridiculous money is put on the table.
