Abdoulaye Doucouré

Abdoulaye Doucouré is a France U21 international midfielder who currently plays for Watford. Born on 1st January 1993, Doucouré came through the junior ranks at Rennes’ youth system and made his senior debut against Brest in Ligue 1 in April 2013. The energetic box-to-box central midfield player played in every round of Rennes’ run to the 2014 Coupe de France final, including the 2-0 final defeat to Guingamp. After almost 100 appearances for the French side, in January 2016 Watford signed Doucouré for £4.5m before immediately sending him out on a six-month’s loan to Granada, where he made 15 La Liga appearances. Having returned to Vicarage Road, he made his Watford debut against Chelsea in a Premier League fixture in August 2016.
