Adam Barrett

A powerful presence at the heart of the back four, Barrett has played for Southend on more than 300 occasions over two spells and was named club captain for the 2016/17 season. Having started out as a trainee at Leyton Orient, his career has spanned three decades and 10 clubs, although he is most associated with the Shrimpers, with whom he has won a League One championship and promotion from Leagues One and Two via the play-offs. In March 2016 he signed a new deal keeping him at the club until the summer of 2017.
