Adam El-Abd

Adam El Abd is an Egyptian international defender who currently plays for Stevenage. Born in Brighton, he qualifies for Egypt through his father, and made an international debut in May 2012. At club level, the powerful centre-half joined his hometown club Brighton & Hove Albion as a schoolboy and went to make more than making 300 first-team appearances for the club over 11 years – lifting the 2010/11League One championship and helping the club reach to the Championship play-offs in 2013 and 2014. He moved to Bristol City and became a Football League Trophy winner in his first season at the club – before taking in loans at Bury, Swindon Town and Gillingham. He signed for Shrewsbury Town permanently on a free transfer in July 2016 and was named captain for the 2016/17 season.
