Ádám Szalai

Ádám Szalai, born 9 December 1987, is a Hungarian footballer who plays for German club 1. FSV Mainz 05 as a striker. The Hungarian attacker started his career with Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart but failed to make an appearance for the first team before a move to Real Madrid’s reserve side in 2007 for a fee reported to be around the €500,000 mark. He spent three seasons in Spain before returning to the Bundesliga, this time with Mainz 05 on a six month loan deal. Mainz paid €500,000 in the summer of 2010 to make the deal permanent. In July 2013 Schalke paid €6 million for the services of Szalai. After just one season with the club he was on the move once again making a €5.2 million move to Hoffenehim.
