Adam Thompson

Adam Thompson is a Northern Ireland international defender who currently plays for Rotherham United. Born on 28th September 1992, in Harlow, Essex, Thompson began his career at nearby Watford on schoolboy terms before making his Hornets’ debut in a League Cup tie in August 2010 at the age of 17. The mobile centre-half, who has filled in at right back in the past, would also make 10 appearances in the Championship during his first senior season before spending the majority of the next two years out on loan at Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet in Leagues One and Two. On his return to Vicarage Road, he featured three times as the club reached the 2012/13 Championship play-off final. Following an 18-month loan at Southend United, Thompson reached the League Two play-offs twice – gaining promotion in 2014 –having signing a permanent deal.
