Alexander Gerndt

Alexander Clas Robin Gerndt is a 30-year-old Striker from Sweden who currently plays for Lugano. He was born in Visby on the Swedish island of Gotland. He started out at local Visby IF Gute, before moving to the mainland to join AIK Solna in 2007, where he made his first-team debut. He then moved from IK Sirius to Gefle IF and finally to Helsingborgs IF. After a successful season in Helsingborgs, he was bought by FC Utrecht from the Dutch Eredivisie. Just 18 months later he moved to Young Boys, where he became a first-team starter, although injuries prevented him from making a more meaningful impact. Gerndt has played six times for Sweden, debuting in 2010.
