Andrés D’Alessandro

Andrés D’Alessandro is an Argentine playmaker who plays for Internacional and was born on the 15th April 1981 in Buenos Aires. Considered one of the most gifted Argentine players of his generation, D’Alessandro’s cumulative transfer fees are around US$20m. He debuted for River Plate at the age of just 19 in 2000, and three years later was sold to Wolfsburg where he first became an important player before his level dropped. After falling out with management, he was loaned first to Portsmouth, where he helped the team avoid relegation, and then to Real Zaragoza, who bought him at the end of his one-year loan. A year later, in 2008, Zaragoza sold him to San Lorenzo in his homeland, where he remained for six months before being sold to Internacional of Brazil. In early 2016, Inter loans him to River Plate. D’Alessandro has been capped 40 times by Argentina and has won the Under-20 World Cup, the Olympic Football Tournament and numerous domestic and international club titles.
