Angel Rangel

Angel Rangel is a Spanish defender who plays for Queens Park Rangers. The experienced right full-back joined the Swans from Terrassa FC in 2007 and made over 300 appearances for the club. Born on 28th November 1982, in Catalonia, Spain, Rangel played youth football for nearby Gimnàstic de Tarragona, CD Tortosa, CF Reus Deportiu, Girona FC, UE Sant Andreu and Terrassa FC in his homeland, making his senior debut Segunda División B. Despite interest from La Liga, Rangel linked up fellow Spaniard Roberto Martinez at Swansea in July 2007 – winning the League One title in his first season. Having become a first-team regular, Rangel was part of the side that reached the Premier League, playing in the 2011 Championship play-off final 4-2 win over Reading. He was back at Wembley, playing in the 2013 League Cup final victory over Bradford City. A total of 27 Premier League appearances helped the Swans finish in eighth place, their highest-ever league position, in 2014/15. In 2012, the Welsh FA deemed Rangel ineligible to represented Wales.
