Anwar El Ghazi

Anwar El Ghazi is a versatile Dutch winger born in Barendrecht on May 3, 1995. The 6ft 2in attacker started out with local side BVV Barendrecht and spent time with Feyenoord, Spartaan ’20 and Sparta Rotterdam as a youth before signing for Ajax in 2013.

A regular with the Amsterdam side, El Ghazi joined Ligue 1’s Lille in the summer of 2017 and spent 18 months with the French outfit until a loan switch to Aston Villa in January 2019. El Ghazi wrote his name into Villa folklore by scoring one and making another in their Play-Off Final win over Derby County at the end of that season and later signed a permanent five-year contract.
