Augusto Batalla

Augusto Batalla is an Argentine goalkeeper, born on the 30th April 1996, who plays for Unión La Calera. Batalla joined River Plate at the age of just 5. He reached the first team in 2014, and made his league debut on the 2nd April 2016 in a 2-1 defeat to Patronato. By this time, Batalla had already won the Under-17 and Under-20 South American Championships with Argentina, in 2013 and 2015 respectively. River manager Marcelo Gallardo announced that the 20-year-old Batalla would be the club’s first choice goalkeeper for the 2016-17 season, following the departure of Marcelo Barovero.
