Carlos Vela

Carlos Vela is a Mexican forward who plays for Los Angeles Football Club. Born on 1st March 1989, Vela started his youth career at Guadalajara and went on to quickly signing for Arsenal in 2005, on a five-year deal for a £125,000 fee. In the summer of 2006, Vela was loaned out to Spanish Segunda División club Salamanca, netting eight times during his 31 appearances with the side. The following summer, he joined La Liga side Osasuna on a one-year loan, scoring just the three goals in 33 appearances. Once returning to Arsenal, on 30 August 2008, Vela completed his competitive debut during a 3-0 victory versus Newcastle United in the Premier League. On 23 September 2008, in his full debut against Sheffield United in the League Cup, Vela scored a hat-trick during a 6–0 win. In August 2011, Arsenal announced that Vela would be loaned out to Spanish club Real Sociedad. Vela completed 12 goals in 35 appearances for the La Liga side and his wish of staying at the club was granted, with the move becoming permanent on 17 July 2012. In September 2007, Vela made his full international debut for the Mexico senior team during a friendly against Brazil. Since then, Vela has gone on to earning just under 50 caps for his country.
