Chris Brunt

Chris Brunt is a Northern Ireland international defender/midfielder who plays for West Bromwich Albion. Born on 14th December 1984, Brunt joined Middlesbrough in 2002 but was unable to break into the first team during two years on Teesside. Able to play as an attacking full-back or orthodox wide midfielder, Brunt quickly became renowned for his powerful left foot and spectacular goals. Having spent time in the MLS in 2003 with Sporting Kansas City, where he would make his senior debut, an initial loan move to Sheffield Wednesday was made into a permanent deal in March 2004. Brunt played in the 2005 League One play-off final win over Hartlepool Town before two seasons playing in the Championship. In August 2007, West Bromwich Albion paid £3m for Brunt, who would help the side win promotion from Championship a year later and again in 2010, before being named captain in 2011. Brunt has over 50 caps for Northern Ireland but, a knee injury in March 2016 ruled him out of UEFA Euro 2016.
