Costel Pantilimon

Costel Pantilimon is a Romanian international goalkeeper who currently plays for . Born 1st February 1987, the imposing 6’ 8” stopper was picked up Politehnica Timisoara as a teenager, making the first of more than 100 senior appearances for the club against Dinamo Bucharest in Liga I in March 2007. During his time in Timisoara, he represented the club in the 2009 Cupa Romaniei final, plus UEFA Champions League qualifying matches and the Europa League. Three years at Manchester City followed between August 2011 and July 2014, during which time he was part of the squads that won the 2011/12 and 2013/14 Premier League titles, as well as playing in the 2014 League Cup final win over Sunderland. He would sign for the Black Cats just four months later before a switch to Watford for an undisclosed fee in January 2016. Pantilimon has over 20 international caps and was part of the Romania squad at UEFA Euro 2016.
