Craig Dawson

Craig Dawson is a former England U21 international defender who plays for Watford. Born on 6th May 1990, the tall, powerful centre-half began his career aged 17 in Non-League football with Greater Manchester side Radcliffe Borough before signing for hometown club Rochdale in February 2009, helping the club seal promotion from League Two. In August 2010 he signed for West Bromwich Albion for £750,000, but returned on loan to Rochdale for the 2010/11 campaign and spent a temporary spell in the Championship with Bolton Wanderers at the end of the 2012/13 season. His WBA debut came in a League Cup tie with Bournemouth in August 2011 – the first of more than 100 appearances for the club. At international level, Dawson was a playing member of the Team GB squad at the 2012 London Olympic Games – and represented England at the 2013 U21 European Championship.
