Daniel Pudil

Daniel Pudil is a Czech Republic international defender who plays for . The experienced left full-back signed for the Owls in July 2016 having spent the 2015/16 season on loan from Watford. Born on 27th September 1985, Pudil was a youth at Sparta Prague before gaining senior experience with FK Chmel Blsany, FC Slovan Liberec and Slavia Prague – winning the Czech title with the latter two clubs. He signed for KRC Genk in July 2008, and during three-and-a-half years there he lifted the Beker van Belgium (Belgian Cup) and two Belgian Super Cups. Having come to the attention of the Pozzo family, he signed for Granada (January 2012) and then Watford, initially on loan (July 2012), via a temporary four-month stay at Cesena. He was part of the Watford sides that twice lost to Crystal Palace at Wembley: in the 2013 Championship play-off final and the 2016 FA Cup semi-final. He gained promotion to the Premier League with the Hornets in 2015, but was again on the losing side at Wembley, this time for Sheffield Wednesday in the 2016 Championship play-off final. Pudil has over 30 international caps, and represented the Czech Republic at Euro 2016.
