Darren Fletcher

Darren Fletcher is a Scottish international midfielder who currently plays for Born on 1st February 1984, Fletcher was scouted by Manchester United at the age of 11. During a 20-year association with the Red Devils, the all-action midfielder collected 11 major trophies in 342 appearances; his debut coming in March 2003 in a UEFA Champions League (UCL) group match. His first full season ended with him playing in the 2004 FA Cup final 3-0 win over Millwall. In 2005/6 he played four of six matches as United collected the League Cup, before losing at the new Wembley against Chelsea in the 2007 FA Cup final – although, that year, Fletcher did lift the first of his five Premier League titles (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013). The 2007/8 season brought league and UCL winner’s medals – although he would miss the 2009 UCL final defeat to Barcelona through suspension. He played in the 2010 League Cup final 2-1 win over Aston Villa and collected another two Premier League titles before spending 10 months out of the game after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He returned in December 2013 and made vice-captain of the club during his final two seasons at Old Trafford. He signed for West Brom on a free transfer in February 2015 and was made captain for the 2015/16 season.
