David Meyler

David Meyler is a Republic of Ireland international midfielder who plays club football for . Born on 29th May 1989, Meyler came through the junior ranks at Cork City before moving to English football with Sunderland for £250,000 in July 2008, where he played for the Black Cats’ development side before taking his Premier League bow in December 2009. After a lack of first-team football during four years on Wearside, the box-to-box central midfielder made a loan switch to Hull City in November 2012 before making the deal permanent in January 2013. He has helped the Tigers seal promotion to the Premier League on two occasions – 2012/13 and 2015/16 – and scored in the 2014 FA Cup semi-final 5-3 win over Sheffield United but had to settle for a runner’s-up medal in the final against Arsenal. Meyler has over 15 caps for the Republic of Ireland and was named in the squad for UEFA Euro 2016.
