David Mooney

Born on 30th October 1984, David Mooney is a former Republic of Ireland youth international striker who plays for . Having started out in Ireland with Shamrock Rovers, Longford Town and Cork City, the archetypal tall, powerful No.9 centre-forward moved to Reading in 2008 and would be registered with the Royals until 2012. Loan spells at Norwich City, Charlton Athletic and Colchester United preceded signing for Leyton Orient as a free agent in July 2011. He scored 51 goals in 170 appearances over four years at Brisbane Road, which included defeat in the 2014 League One play-off final against Rotherham United. After his contract at Orient expired in May 2015, Mooney signed for Southend United on a free transfer.
