Dominik Hofbauer

Dominik Hofbauer is a former Austrian youth international who currently plays for spusu SKN St. Pölten. Born on 19th September 1990, Hofbauer joined his hometown club, Eggenburg; the first of his nine clubs to date. Youth spells at Austria Vienna, Sturm Graz and three years at Aston Villa preceded a move to SK Rapid Wien in July 2010 and a loan spell with Floridsdorfer AC in the third tier of Austrian football. The technically astute central midfielder was able to make the step up to the Erste Liga with SKN St. Pölten – which included a 2014 ÖFB-Cup runner’s-up medal and UEFA Europa League qualifying matches – and then to the Austrian Bundesliga at SC Wiener Neustadt between 2011 and 2015. He remained in the top flight for the 2015/16 season with SC Rheindorf Altach, making 26 appearances, before a free transfer to the Polish Ekstraklasa with Arka Gdynia in July 2016.
