Donal McDermott

Born on 19th October 1989, in Dublin, Donal McDermott is an Irish forward for . Having moved to England as a schoolboy to join Manchester City, McDermott’s has been something of a tale of an academy graduate who fell through the cracks of the game. After being released by Manchester City, the small, lightning-quick left winger found himself having to rebuild his career – he passed through eight other English clubs and returned to Ireland with Dundalk, where he played 11 times during the club’s 2014 League of Ireland title season before arriving at Rochdale, initially on trial, in May 2015. McDermott has played in the Premier League and Northern Premier League and most stops in between – including time at Bournemouth, with whom he reached the League One play-offs in 2008.
