Eldin Jakupović

Eldin Jakupović is a Swiss international goalkeeper who currently plays for Leicester City. Born in Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina) on October 2, 1984, he moved to Switzerland as a child and joined the youth set-up at Grasshoppers Zurich. A loan move to FC Thun for 2005/6 saw Jakupović thrust into UEFA Champions League action, playing twice against Arsenal in the group stage.

Short spells at Lokomotiv Moscow, Greek Super League sides Olympiakos Volou and Aris, and Leyton Orient followed before a permanent deal was struck with Hull in July 2012. Jakupović played in the 2015/16 Championship Play-Off final 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday as the Tigers returned to the Premier League. After impressing in the top-flight, Jakupović signed for Leicester City in the summer of 2017. In August 2005, Jakupović was called up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national squad, however opted to play for Switzerland – making his debut against Cyprus in August 2008.
