He made his professional debut for Odd Grenland in 1999 and went on to play 155 league matches, scoring 37 goals. He was prolific for Grenland in the cup competitions, scoring a further 20 goals in just 30 cup appearances, including 6 European ties. Hoff won the Norwegian Cup in 2000. He moved to Lyn in 2006 and then Stabaek in 2009 scoring goals for both clubs. His international debut for Norway came in January 2005 against Bahrain. Hoff would win two caps.
