Etienne Capoue

Etienne Capoue is a French international who plays club football for Watford. Born on 11th July 1988, the versatile defensive midfielder began his professional career in his native France, representing his hometown club Chamois Niortais before further youth spells with FC Chauray and Angers SCO before a move to Ligue 1 side Toulouse in July 2005, where he would make his senior debut. During six years and almost 200 first-team matches with Toulouse, he would form part of the team that reached Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue semi-finals in 2009 and 2010, respectively, and featured in the UEFA Europa League. A £9.4m move to Tottenham Hotspur followed in August 2013 but after just 24 Premier League appearances for the club he made the switch to Watford in July 2015 for a club record £6m. Capoue made his international debut in a friendly for France against Uruguay in August 2012.
