Florian Thauvin

Florian Thauvin, born January 26, 1993, is a French attacking midfielder who plays for Marseille. Thauvin made his professional debut for Grenoble in March 2011 but left when the club was liquidated three months later. He joined Bastia and helped the side clinch the 2012 Ligue 2 title before sealing a move to Lille in January 2013. However, he stayed with Bastia on loan and after helping France win the Under-20 World Cup, moved to Marseille in the summer of 2013 without ever having played for Lille. After 68 games and 13 goals for OM, Thauvin joined Newcastle United in 2015. He failed to settle or impress in the North East and returned to Marseille in January 2016 on loan. That deal was extended for the 2016/17 campaign, but after just three games OM re-signed him permanently.
