Gaël Clichy

Gael Clichy is a French left-back, born on 26th July 1985, who plays for Istanbul Basaksehir. Clichy was a member of various different football academies whilst in France, before joining Arsenal at the age of 16. Often second choice behind Ashley Cole and struggling with injuries, Clichy never became a regular starter for the Gunners and opted to join Manchester City in July 2011. In his first season with Manchester City he won the Premier League title, winning the trophy again in 2014. Clichy made his debut for the French senior team in September 2008, playing for his country at the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championships.
