Ian Black

Born on 14th March 1985, Ian Black is a Scottish international midfielder who is currently signed to . Originally from Edinburgh he joined city side Hibernian as a junior before being asked to join the Blackburn Rovers academy aged 17. Two years in Lancashire preceded a move back to Scotland for the all-action ball winner with Inverness Caledonian Thistle in July 2004, for whom he would make more than 100 appearances over five years in the Scottish Premiership. He returned to Edinburgh with Hearts in July 2009, the highlight coming in 2012 when he was part of the side that defeated city rivals Hibs 5-1 in the Scottish Cup final. He would return to Hampden Park in 2015 for a League Cup semi-final for Rangers against Celtic, although on that occasion he was on the losing side. He signed for Shrewsbury Town as a free agent in September 2015.
