Ibrahim Afellay

Ibrahim Afellay is a Dutch attacking midfielder, born on 2nd April 1986, who plays for PSV. Afellay joined the PSV Eindhoven academy when he was 10, making his debut for the club in 2004 as a 17-year-old. He grew into a vital player for the Dutch club and won four consecutive Eredivisie titles between 2004 and 2008. His performances attracted the interest of Barcelona and a move was completed in 2011. Largely a backup player for the Catalan club, the Dutchman moved to Schalke on loan for the 2012-13 season to get minutes. Injuries troubled him throughout his time with the Spanish club and another loan followed with Olympiacos for the 2014-15 season. In summer 2015, he joined Stoke City. Afellay made his senior international debut in 2007 and featured for his country at both the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championships.
