James McArthur

James McArthur is a Scottish international midfielder who currently plays for Crystal Palace. Born on October 7, 1987 in Glasgow, McArthur was part of the Rangers youth set-up as a schoolboy but began his career at Hamilton Academical, for whom he made his professional debut in 2005 and was a member of the Scottish Division One title-winning squad in 2007/8.

He joined Wigan Athletic in July 2010 and went on to play in the 2012/13 FA Cup final win over Manchester City. After a season in the Championship, McArthur returned to the top-flight with Crystal Palace in a then club-record £7million deal. He played in his second FA Cup final in 2015/16, this time having to settle for a runners-up medal after a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United. McArthur began his international career in November 2010 and has over 25 caps for Scotland.
