James Ward-Prowse

James Ward-Prowse is an England U21 international midfielder who plays for Southampton. Born on 1st November 1994, Ward-Prowse joined the Southampton youth set-up aged eight and worked his way up the age categories to earn a scholarship with the Saints in 2011. After making the U21 side, the technically-gifted playmaker who is excellent with the dead ball, made his first senior appearance aged 16 in a League Cup match at Crystal Palace in October 2011 – winning the club’s Young Player of the Season award that season. He was named in the Premier League squad for 2012/13 season and has gone on to play over 100 times for the first team, including UEFA Europa League matches. Ward-Prowse was named captain of the England U21 side in March 2015 and has over 30 caps for the Young Lions – including winning the 2016 Toulon Tournament.
