John-Joe O’Toole is a former Republic of Ireland U21 international midfielder who plays for Burton Albion. Born on 30th September 1988, in London, O’Toole began his career at Watford – for whom he made his debut in the Championship in September 2007. Spells in the Non-League football, plus Leagues One and Two with Sheffield United, Colchester United, Bristol Rovers and Southend United preceded his moved to Northampton Town at the start of the 2014/15 season. It is at Sixfields that the technically adept central midfielder enjoyed his best spell, making more than 100 appearances for the Cobblers – including being named club Player of the Year during their 2015/16 League Two title-winning season.
