Jordy Clasie

Jordy Clasie is Dutch international midfielder who plays club football for AZ. Born on 27th June 1991, Clasie joined the Feyenoord academy as a nine-year-old in 2000, the start of a 15-year association with the Rotterdam club. The tenacious defensive midfielder actually made his professional debut against his parent club, helping rivals Rotterdam rivals Excelsior to 3-2 derby win while on loan in August 2010. Clasie was part of the Feyenoord sides that finished as Eredivisie runners-up to champions Ajax under Ronald Koeman in 2011/12 and 2013/14, and was named captain for the 2014/15 campaign. Having been appointed Southampton manager, Koeman signed Clasie for £10.5m in July 2015 – the midfielder making 22 Premier League appearances in his first season at St Mary’s. Clasie won his first senior Netherlands cap in 2-0 win against Turkey in September 2012 and reached was part of the side that reached the semi-final of the 2013 UEFA European U21 Championships.
