Juan Mata

Juan Mata is a Spanish attacking midfield player who currently plays for Manchester United. Born on 28th April 1988, Mata graduated out of the famous Real Madrid youth academy, but never made the grade to feature for the first team. In March 2007, Mata accepted that he was unlikely to feature in the first team at Real Madrid and transferred to Valencia. Earning favour with Ronald Koeman, Mata became an integral member of the Valencia team and eventually earned a move to Chelsea for £23.5 million in August 2011. In two full seasons at Chelsea, Mata won both the Champions League and the Europa League before Jose Mourinho opted to sell the Spanish playmaker to Manchester United in the winter transfer window of the 2013-14 season.
