Leon Clarke

Leon Clarke is an English centre-forward who plays for Sheffield United. Born on 10th February 1985, in Wolverhampton, Clarke began his career with hometown club Wolves, for whom he would make the first of more than 100 appearances in August 2004 and win promotion from League One a decade later. It would be fair to say that from there Clarke became something of a ‘gun for hire’ or journeyman, as his career of more than 400 appearances has taken in spells at 16 clubs throughout the English Football League. From north (Preston North End), south (Charlton Athletic), east (Southend United) and west (Plymouth Argyle) – Clarke has covered the map, scoring more than 100 career goals along the way. He signed for Sheffield United in July 2016 for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
