Lucas Albertengo

Lucas Albertengo is an Argentine centre forward, born on the 30th January 1991, who plays for Newell’s Old Boys. Albertengo is from Santa Fe province, and trained as a youngster in the youth system of Santa Fe side Atlético de Rafaela. He debuted in the first team in March 2012, and although he only played in fits and starts initially, he won a place in the team in 2013-14 with some fine performances, contributing eleven goals in 37 matches. In January 2015, he was transferred to Independiente for US$2.4m, but after a cruciate ligament injury kept him out for eight months from late 2015, and in 2016 with the emergence of Martín Benítez to partner Diego Vera, his playing time diminished.
