Mariano Pavone

Mariano Pavone is an Argentine centre forward, born on the 27th May 1982, who plays for . After coming through Boca Juniors’ youth system he moved to Estudiantes de La Plata on a free transfer and made his first professional appearance for that club in November 2000. He was sold to Spain’s Real Betis for US$9.2m in 2007, and moved to River Plate on loan in 2010, where he was part of the team who suffered River’s first ever relegation a year later. In August 2011, Betis let him go on a free transfer to Argentine club Lanús, and after a spell in Mexico with Cruz Azul from 2012 to 2015 he spent six months at Vélez Sarsfield in early 2015, six months at Racing in the second half of that year, and rejoined Vélez in January 2016. Pavone has won league titles with Estudiantes and Cruz Azul, and the CONCACAF Champions League with Cruz Azul.
