Mat Sadler

Mat Sadler is a former England youth international defender who plays for Walsall. Born in Birmingham on 26th February 1984, Sadler signed for Birmingham City as a youth player and made his senior debut for the club in the Premier League in November 2002. In a career spanning a decade and a half, the tall versatile defender – used predominantly at left full-back – had made more than 300 appearances to the start of the 2016/17 season where he was signed to Shrewsbury Town. He made 36 appearances during the 2006/07 season as Birmingham City were promoted to the Premier League, before moving to Watford for £750,000 in July 2010. Spells at Walsall and Crawley Town preceded a season in the Championship with Rotherham United before a move to Shrewsbury Town in May 2015.
