Mathieu Valbuena

Mathieu Valbuena is a French midfield who plays for Olympiakos and was born on 28th September 1984. Starting his career at Bordeaux, he was deemed too small and move to the lower leagues. After a good spell with Libourne Saint-Seurin, he move to Marseille in 2006. In eight seasons he played over 240 games and “Le Petit Velo” became a club hero. Able to play on the wing and behind the strikers, he moved to Dynamo Moscow at the end of his contract in 2014. The move was a success, but the club’s financial problems meant that he moved back to France, joining Lyon on an initial loan deal. After playing in the 2014 World Cup for France, he lost his place due to poor form and an ongoing legal issue with Karim Benzema.
