Matt Ritchie

Matt Ritchie is a Scottish midfielder, born on 10th September 1989, who plays for Newcastle United. Ritchie joined Portsmouth when he was 13, but never became a regular at the club as he spent time out on loan with Dagenham and Redbridge, Swindon and Notts County. A permanent move to Swindon followed in 2011, impressing sufficiently to earn a move to Bournemouth two years later. He then played a key role as Bournemouth won promotion to the Premier League, but left the club in summer 2016 to join Newcastle in the Championship. Ritchie qualified for Scotland through his father and made his senior debut in March 2015.
