Matthew Lund

Matty Lund is a Northern Ireland U21 international midfielder who plays club football for Rochdale. Born on 21st November 1990, in Manchester, Lund has twice been called up by the Northern Irish senior side – firstly in 2014 and again for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches in September and October 2016. Lund came through the famous Crewe Alexandra youth system before moving to Stoke City at the age of 18. A four-year association with Stoke included loan spells at Hereford United, Oldham Athletic, Bristol Rovers and Southend United and came to an end in July 2013 when he was released by the Premier League club and joined Rochdale on a free transfer. His most successful season to date came during 2013/14 as he scored eight goals in 40 league matches as Rochdale won promotion from League Two – and he made his 100th appearance for the club during the 2015/16 campaign.
