Matthew Taylor

Matt Taylor is a former England U21 international who plays for . Born in Oxford on 27th November 1981, Taylor is an experienced left-sided midfielder who has more than 400 career appearances as of the start of the 2016/17 season. He began his career at Luton Town in August 1999 in the old English Division One (Championship) before then Premier League club Portsmouth paid £400,000 for the teenager in August 2007. Five-and-a-half years at Portsmouth saw Taylor establish himself in the top flight before a £3.5 million move to league rivals Bolton Wanderers – where he featured in a FA Cup semi-final in May 2011. A move to West Ham United followed that summer, where Taylor won promotion from the Championship in his first season in the East End before repeating the trick with Burnley in 2016. He signed for League One side Northampton Town as a free agent in August 2016.
